Fred Laubi Abstract Art Gallery

“It is never too late to do something well ” – the French say and this seems to be true for Fred Laubi who, after a long and prestigious career in the hotel business, has discovered painting.

From the start, his style was clearly defined – all the more interesting as it originally came from his dreams. What enchants the viewer is the extraordinary imagination united with rigorous form. Circles, triangles, rectangles in the most luminous colours, but always assembled in new combinations. You could say that the artist has looked at an imaginary world through a gigantic kaleidoscope which – at every quarter turn – shows new and creative combinations. Despite it all, Fred Laubi is very modest and even surprised by the warm reception that the public reserves for his works.

Where do these inspirations for the luminous paintings come from? The origins can be rather diverse: first and foremost an inborn and lively sense of colour, a passion for elementary forms and a notable sense of humour. An example is the amusing watercolour painting called ‘Bouillabaisse a ma façon’ inspired by his experience and lifelong passion for ‘haute cuisine’.
